To import products and URLs in bulk to Prisync, you will need your data stored in an Excel file.
Under the batch import function, you have two main options:
- Adding New Products and URLs: Import new products and URLs to your Prisync account.
- Adding New URLs to Existing Products: Import additional URLs for products already in your Prisync account.
Important Note: If you are using the Prisync Shopify App, you should import your products directly from Shopify. Use the "Adding New URLs" section for updating products via the Shopify app.
You can download the templates for these processes below.
1. Adding new products and URLs to your account [DOWNLOAD]
Add New Product Template ScreenShot:
In the template, you will find eight predefined columns for product information: Name, Product Code, Barcode, Product Cost, Additional Cost, Brand, Category, and Tags. Please note the following:
- Brand and Category fields are mandatory. If you do not have information for these fields, you can enter "No Brand" and "No Category."
- If the Name, Brand, or Category fields are left blank, the product will not be imported.
In addition to product information, you can include your own URLs and competitor URLs in the designated columns. The image shows only four columns (G, H, I, J) for competitors, but you can add an unlimited number of competitor URLs in additional columns if needed.
Adding new competitor URLs to existing products template:
In the second template, you will find a list of products already in your account. The purpose of this template is to add new URLs to these existing products.
- You can add new URLs starting from column F without modifying any information in the first four columns (Product ID, Product Name, SKU Code, and Barcode).
- If you need to add multiple competitor URLs, continue using columns F, G, and so on.
- Please note that if you change the Product ID, Name, or SKU information in the original list, the URLs will not be imported for the updated product.
Here are some important considerations for the import process:
When Adding New Products:
- If the same product appears multiple times in your Excel file, only one instance will be imported. Products are considered duplicates if they share the same name, SKU code, brand, and category. Existing products in your Prisync account will not be re-imported.
- Duplicate URLs in the import file will be imported separately. An error file will be provided if any issues arise.
- Ensure that the name, category, and brand fields are not left blank. If you don't have specific information, use "No Brand" and "No Category" in these columns.
- Verify that the essential columns—name, SKU code, cost, brand, and category—are correctly mapped.
- Incorrectly mapped competitor URL columns will not be imported.
When Adding New Competitor URLs to Existing Products:
- Download a fresh product list for this purpose from this post or from your Prisync account under the batch import function.
- Do not modify the Product ID, Name, and SKU Code columns.
- You can update costs in this template, and these updates will be reflected in your Prisync account. If the cost column is left blank, the cost will be set to zero ("0").
- Ensure that the essential columns—Product ID, name, SKU code, and cost—are correctly mapped.
- Incorrectly mapped competitor URL columns will not be imported.
Then, you'll land on a page like below.
Now it's time to map the columns of your file to the properties in Prisync. You can rename the columns in your templates as long as you map them correctly. The Prisync properties are as follows:
- For adding new products: Name, SKU Code, Product Cost, Brand, Category, Your Own URL, and Competitor URL.
- For adding new URLs to existing products: Product ID, Name, SKU Code, Product Cost, and Competitor URL.
Ensure that each column in your file is correctly matched with the corresponding Prisync property. For example, if you have a column labeled "Product Name," it should be mapped to the "Name" property in Prisync. Similarly, map each competitor URL column to the corresponding Prisync property. Double-check all columns you intend to import. Here is an example for reference:
